The clothes weren't the only viewing pleasure for fashionistas at the David Jones Spring Summer show last week – MAC's latest makeup looks for the warmer months ahead were also a big hit.
Held in Sydney, the show featured Jessica Gomes, Jesinta Franklin, Bridget Malcolm and Shanina Shaik along with other models wearing designs by 40 brands as well as two distinct makeup looks for over 300 glamourous guests.
According to MAC senior artist Nicole Thompson, the important thing makeup searches for the growing season is “classic summer beauty” featuring “radiant bronzed skin with enhanced freckles and golden tans” but two looks were necessary for the show.
“As the show is really big with so many different designers we wanted classic beauty looks to boost out models while having the ability to be worn together with colours and styles.
“Both looks have skin that's perfect with my favourite skin coverage combo – MAC Studio Fix Fluid and MAC Face and the body Foundation – for glowing texture using the coverage all women wants.”
“The complexion is placed having a spritz of backstage staple (MAC Prep + Prime Fix +) to set and freshen.”
The two looks were:
Ginger-nut Smokey Eye: “I really wanted this eye shadows to be a strong statement but not heavy in colour. The monochromatic ginger/ochre tone is blended all the way over the lids and up through the eyebrows – and all sorts of is finished with a beautiful sheen that is picked up under the lights.”
Classic crimson lips having a vibrant matte twist: “Set against glowing warm skin, the red lipstick may be the ultimate makeup accessory for any outfit. Brows, eyes and cheeks are all subtly boosted and polished, but all have a back seat for this clean matte pout.”
