If you find it difficult to find the correct coloured eyeshadow, blush or brow powder you'll be pleased to know that now you can print your own using “16o7 million colours” thanks to the launch of the world's first 3D makeup printer.
Weighing just under a kilogram, the Mink enables users to transform any digital images into wearable makeup in less than 30 seconds.
Users simply open the Mink app and import an image from the web, camera roll or social media. After choosing whether or not to print the entire image or perhaps a single colour within it, users then insert a Mink makeup sheet into the tray and press 'send to print'. Fifteen seconds later the printing is complete and the makeup, created “in accordance with the FDA rules for cosmetics”, is able to wear.
Grace Choi, the CEO and co-founder of Mink, first launched the “revolutionary idea of printing makeup” in 2022 and it has since refined it to now deliver “exciting and quality features for an incredible consumer experience”.
“I am thrilled to finally be able to share the Mink experience with everyone, and excited for that road ahead,” she said.
Mink president and co-founder Janet Kim states that the new printer meets the demands of today's consumers who “have higher expectations on how where the products they consume fit into their lifestyle”.
